Judith & Michael's Tennessee Visit

A couple of weeks ago Judith & Michael went to see Matt & Emily in Tennessee. They had a wonderful time. On Friday, Michael and Matt went on a hike at the Twin Arches and Judith & Emily went to a Mediterranean restaurant where Emily's mom Janice met them for lunch. Emma Claire went every where that Judith and Emily went!!

On Saturday, Michael and Matt went to the family farm in Kentucky to visit Grandpa. There is no bare dirt in Kentucky & Tennessee. You are either looking at a farm or at grass. Judith and Emily went to Barnes and Noble to buy a Blind Boys of Alabama CD because Judith discovered on the airplane trip that the Blind Boys' rendition of Amazing Grace is Michael's favorite. Seredipity at its finest, the worker who helped them knew everything there is to know about the Blind Boy's. Both Judith & Emily purchased a 1950's CD and a more recent one that had Amazing Grace.

On Sunday during the weekly prayer call, Matt oniented both Judith and Michael. Matt placed oil across their foreheads and down to their nose in the form of a cross as both he and Todd prayed for healing. Matt's mom, Mary June was in charge of Emma Claire throughout the prayer call and when Ms. Emma Claire got fussy, she sung her a lullaby in the most amazing voice.

Footprints in the Sand

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky. In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there were one set of footprints.

This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints.

So I said to the Lord,
"You promised me Lord, that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there have only been one set of footprints in the sand.

Why, when I needed you most, you have not been there for me?"

The Lord replied,
"The times when you have seen only one set of footprints in the sand, is when I carried you."

Amazing Grace

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.
T'was Grace that taught my heart to fear.
And Grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear
The hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils and snares
I have already come;
'Tis Grace that brought me safe thus far
and Grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me.
His word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.

Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.

When we've been here ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun.
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Than when we've first begun.
